Like all kiasu Singaporeans, my mum lives by the motto, “cheap things must buy, free things must take.” I first discovered beauty recycling programs in Singapore when she told me to save my finished M.A.C lipstick casing. “Eh, can change for new lipstick you know.”

Innisfree
You can get a free membership with any purchase at Innisfree. Members are allowed to trade in a maximum of 3 products* a month in exchange for 50 points (SGD$1.00 ) per product. Talk about turning trash to cash *ka-ching*.

Kiehl’s
Upon recycling your fourth and seventh empty full-sized Kiehl’s product, you’ll get a travel-sized item of your choice. When you return your tenth, however, you get two travel-sized products.
Remember to collect your free eco-card from the store and have them stamped for the redemption to count.
M·A·C Cosmetics
With the Back-to-M·A·C Program, you’ll receive a free full-sized lipstick for every 6 M.A.C products* you recycle in-stores.
*: This deal excludes accessories and brushes.
Lush
As long as you bring back 5 clean black pots (of any size) from Lush, you’ll get a fresh face mask for *angels singing* free.
Origins
If you’re a beauty junkie who’s got empties from brands not listed above, fret not. Origins accepts empty products from any cosmetic brand and generously offers free sample sachets in exchange.
